One of the best parts of my job is when I get to help medical practices connect with our local community. For example, when a school or a sports team or a religious organization is holding a fundraiser, it’s a great idea for your practice to donate something to their event, or place an ad in their program. When properly chosen, this marketing channel provides visibility for your practice, and most importantly, supports wonderful causes.

From a different vantage point, this allows me to see what a generous and positive community we have locally. On any given weekend, throughout the year, you can find sports events raising funds for a specific health care concern. Or perhaps it is a local library organizing an event to allow their budget to purchase new computers or books. There are fun-runs, walkathons, bike rides, team events – all with an eye on helping others with the funds they raise. School galas are held with silent auctions where members of our supportive community have donated items, purchase tickets to attend, and then buy enjoyable auction items. The volunteer hours to arrange these events are beyond count. And they help remind me how lucky we are to live and work in this special, generous locale.
